New Condos in Square One, Mississauga: 2020 Update

Exchange District Condos

Construction continues on key new condos in Square One that are expected to bring an exciting assortment of residential living options as well as many urban style amenities and architectural details. One of the most significant changes to the downtown Mississauga landscape is the demolition of 151 City Centre Dr to make way for the refreshing and large scale Exchange District condos for sale. The concrete cube structure was one of the original buildings constructed in the Square One area. The Exchange District condos by Camrost Felcorp are planned to include 4 towers with sales having commenced for Exchange District Tower 1 and EX2.

Above is a photo of the brutalist architecture inspired office building that will be removed to make way for the Exchange District condos. The new condominiums will come integrated with a community driven, retail and commercial section. The entire community is centered around a public area that will include restaurants, shopping and local conveniences while simultaneously bringing an significant architectural upgrade to downtown Mississauga. Following he demolition of the existing structure, the excavation process on the property will begin. This will then lead to subterranean structure construction and eventually the towers will begin to rise above-grade.

M CITY Condos

The M CITY Condos are one of the most exciting new condos in Square One. The M CITY Condos are a new community being developed at Confederation Pkwy and Burnhamthorpe Rd W. M CITY Condos Tower 1 and M2 Condos and the M3 Condos are currently in the process of being constructed. The Tower 1 and M2 Condos are currently above grade and the podium construction is visible in the photos above and below. The M3 Condos which will have 77 residential floors are an exciting addition to the Mississauga skyline and will be one of the most striking new condos in Square One. M CITY is being built by Urban Capital and Rogers Real Estate Development.

The vision for the M CITY condos is to bring sophisticated architecture into the downtown Mississauga skyline. New additions to the project like the M4 Condos keep the architectural styling alive with variation that adds a truly unique dynamic to the Mississauga skyline. Functional floorplans are maintained in these towers by having the livable portion of the tower in rectangular form. It is then the balconies that undulate in and out along the facade of the towers which creates the striking exterior appearance without compromising functional floor space. These new condos in Square One will include several green spaces and a large park which will form an excellent public space for area residents. Within close proximity to the Mississauga City Centre you have many parks and popular destinations such as Port Credit which further expand the lifestyle experiences that are possible.

Daniels Wesley Condos

The Daniels Wesley condos (pictured above) are one of the more distinctive new condos in Square One. Located beside Parkside Village and steps to Square One Shopping Center, the Daniels Wesley Condos have a unique tower pinnacle that will add to the architectural variety of the downtown Mississauga skyline. Daniels is responsible for great quality condominiums in the areas including Limelight, Chicago and One Park Tower. Construction is proceeding smoothly and the tower is rising quickly with the facade following in tandem.

Block Nine Condos

The Block Nine Condos are part of the Parkside Village community and are nearing completion making them one of the tangible new condos in Square One. Oriented towards a more boutique lifestyle, the Block Nine condos for sale by Amacon feature a stepped pattern top which exudes a more stately ambiance. The street level retail and commercial spaces are seamlessly blended into the podium design with lots of windows that will create natural daylight within the units. Having retail at the base of these Mississauga condos allows for a more urban dynamic where the entire streetscape becomes pedestrian friendly and oriented. It’s designs like this that will allow Square One to become a true downtown core.

Avia Condos for sale

The Avia Condos are also part of the larger Parkside Village community being built by Amacon along Confederation Pkwy in Mississauga’s city centre. The current construction site shows general preparation and excavation commencement. Eventually the below grade parking garage and foundation structures will be poured and constructed. Once complete, the Avia Condos will rise 45 floors above downtown Mississauga. These new condos in Square One are located on the North-East corner of the Parkside Village community which expands the footprint of the development.

New condos in Square One

There are a number of other new condos in Square One currently under construction and also available in the sales stage. The Edge Towers are currently in the excavation stage with the ORO Condos available for sale. The Edge condos are located at the corner of Elm Dr W and Hurontario St which places them steps away from the Hurontario LRT. This government project will introduce a surface rail line independent of automobile traffic to transport people between Brampton to the North and Port Credit to the South. The Hurontario LRT is also going to connect with the upgraded Cooksville GO Station which together with the Port Credit GO Station connects passengers to the GO Transit rail lines and easy access to downtown Toronto. The Brightwater I and Brightwater II condos in Port Credit offer an exciting option for those wanting to be located closer to the lake.

The Keystone condos by Kaneff are also undergoing construction and are located on Burnhamthorpe Rd just East of Hurontario St. This provides easy access to the Hurontario LRT from the Keystone condos as well. The views from the South facing units at the Keystone condos will be pretty spectacular as they’re essentially unobstructed, giving you range of the Toronto skyline and Lake Ontario.

There are many additional construction projects and exciting developments in planning stages. The downtown Mississauga area is expecting around 45+ new condos in Square One over the next decade which will drastically urbanize the city centre as originally intended when Mississauga’s future vision was founded.
